South Central Texas Chapter

2006 NW SJHR Toy Run

On December 2, 2006, the South Central Chapter and the San Antonio Chapter headed to the Houston Area for a House/Board Meeting and to also attend the Northwest Houston Chapter's annual Toy Run.  We had a great ride, and an even greater time!

Here are some pictures from the Toy Run on Sunday.  We cannot describe the feeling you get when you ride up and see these kids waiting on the fence rails for your arrival.  They were holding signs saying "We love the High Rollers", and cheering as the bikes roared up.  Once inside, they sang the tune "Santa Claus is coming to Town", but instead of Santa Claus, they said High Rollers.  It brought tears to my eyes!  The home currently houses 88 kids, and each of these kids were given two gifts, selected for them individually.  The director also told us that they had 59 former residents who were now in their college program.  That is just awesome, no matter how you look at it.  This Toy Run reminded all of us as to the real reason we are members of this club.  The last numbers we received were that this toy run raised $30,000 for these kids.  AWESOME!!!!!!
